The Modern Love Tour SF 2012 Recap
Since Trigger shut down the day before this event, we were not sure what to expect with the drastic event and time. For better or worse, The Modern Love Tour turned out to be an undeniable STEAL that had us open-mouthed but speechless. Seriously, when would you EVER imagine being in an intimate bar drawing on bodyparts with Lady Tragik, doing double dutch with our beloved Hot Tub Divas, and dancing on speakers alongside Zoolu Nasty to a DJ set by our favorite twins Nina Sky?!
It was quite a unique experience contemplating their entrance into the music scene, to their revival, and seeing what we would get with Nicole on the ones and twos and Natalie on the hype. The music started with the top 40 jams that get your booty moving, slowly trecking back through the decades, until we somehow ended up at 90s Ace of Base! Then they took it backup through some Missy Elliot. The amazing music selection and energy at the show deserved a venue packed liked sardines, but luckily for us there was plenty of room to meet people, twerk it, and make memories.
Lessons learned:
- Tragik shirts look great loose
- Hot Tub is hip hop RRIOT GIRL
- Zoolu makes a serious drill sergeant.
- Nina Sky are so genuinely supportive of others trying to stay true to themselves in the game.
- ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS stay and have a smoke break. You might light up from the wrong end (shout @ambr33zy), but you will start a crew and flash sports bras (shout @moneexxx).
Thanks to @Kim_Anh and @djSaratonin for bringing it all together.
