FEMALE RAPPER LEGACY – RIP NATINA REED

Natina Reed, rapper in 90s/00s girlgroup Blaque, was killed in a hit-and-run Oct 26th. Freak accidents are always hard to deal with, and our hearts go out to her friends and family (including former husband Kurupt?) for their loss.

Let’s take a moment to honor and celebrate her life. First of all any female MC that can command attention while demanding respect automatically is a badass. With Left Eye Lopez as her mentor you know she was coming hard. 

Her whole era is making a comeback in terms of fashion, and girl-gang-power, but the way these girls melded swag, fun, realness, and most of all-solidarity with their girls is still something that’s hard to find today. That’s why I honestly have never stopped and listening to Blaque and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
