PERFORMATIVITY 101 – this one is for the homies who have not had the privilege to learn about such a concept yet.

I get REALLY excited when I hear performers (pun intended? lol) like Angel Haze and Venus X publically tweet about gender fluidity.  I believe that denaturalizing identity markers like gender, race, age, sexuality, nationality, etc. and re-understanding them as politicized (and therefore debatable) socially constructed identity markers is one of the strongest tools for ending discrimination.
